Setting up a package...

Open Tour Maintenance

Setting up a packages is the same procedure as a day tour with the exception that when the "can have components" tickbox on the advanced tab is selected - this activates the component button, and allows you to set up component "sets". Components are required to create invoices to suppliers for services, and be spread over many days with many different bus routes associated during the tour.

Components...

A component is effectively a day tour or accommodation which is used within a package. It can be a set up specifically for use in this package, or an existing day tour or accommodation. Where this package has a particular availability allocation a new code will need to be set up to control this availability.

Components Sets...

The Component sets determine the sequence and duration of the components. The sequence is the order in which the components appear in the booking, the Nights are the duration of nights over which the component runs, and the day is the start date (relative to the date chosen when making a new booking) of the component. There can be any number of components on a single day. A component set is relative to the basis and subbasis chosen for the tour code. Where no basis & subbasis exist a standard set will be created as soon as the tour code is typed into a new booking. Where they DO exist, the appropriate component set will be created when the basis & subbasis are chosen.

Package Maintenance Summary...

Setting up components for packages is a lot simpler than it appears! And it allows you a lot of flexibility.
